It's hard not to appreciate the beauty of this garment. The Jilbab is thebenchmark garmentin terms of coverage. It's the ideal choice for women who want to conceal and preserve their awra to a high degree. Let's take a closer look at this popular garment.

What is the Jilbab?

The jilbab (also known as the jilbeb) originated in the Middle East. In particular, Saudi Arabia and Iran. It is considered one of the most covering garments. It's one of the most versatile garments available. Prized worldwide by women of the community, it is notably made up of a dress and an integrated veil.

Why wear a jilbab?

First and foremost, because it's a command from Allah. Indeed, the All-Merciful, says in verse 59 of Sura Al ahzab, in the approximate meaning of the verses: "O Prophet! Tell your wives, your daughters, and the women of the believers, to bring back their large veils: they will be recognized more quickly and will avoid being offended. Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

From this point onwards, the Muslim woman's search for covering is therefore obligatory. But the jilbab in particular is, as we said, the most suitable garment. Indeed, the jilbeb will enable you to go about your business, whether you're on the move or simply at home. And of course, to be able to present yourself in a totally lawful way before the One Creator to pray. It's also important to remember the conditions that the veil must meet in Islam. The jilbab must respect the following basic rules:

Firstly, apart from the face and hands, it must cover the entire body.

Secondly, it must be sober, discreet and unattractive.

Then, of course, it must be made of opaque fabric and be fairly loose-fitting .

Finally, it must not resemble men's clothing or that of non-Muslims.

Nor even be perfumed.

So here's what the legislation of our beautiful religion requires, and if your jilbeb scrupulously respects these conditions, enjoy wearing it.

When to wear it

As we said, the jilbeb is the garment you can rely on in any situation. Its amplitude gives you ease of movement and comfort. Easy and quick to put on, the jilbab will be your faithful ally in situations where you need to get out the door quickly! It saves you a considerable amount of time, and you can go out with complete peace of mind.

How to choose the right jilbab?

Our dress is, by definition, a total reflection of our beautiful religion. It's the image of Islam that's transmitted through the way a woman dresses. So it's very important to help you choose your jilbe as you please, in the way that pleases the Almighty.

So choose your jilbeb carefully, according to your needs. There are a multitude of possible types, cuts and colors. Your first choice will be whether you prefer a two-piece or a one-piece. In this respect, it's essentially your size that will help you select it. In general, smaller women prefer one-piece products. They feel considerably more comfortable in them. As for larger women, it's often the two-piece that appeals to them. It's a question of adapting the height of the skirt to the desired length, toavoid showing your feet.

Next, choose a quality fabric to keep your jilbeb looking good for years to come. Finally, when it comes to fabric choice, it's your environment that takes preced ence. If you're the kind of person who sweats, or if the heat is intense, go for nidha or woolpeach. And for cooler places, or if you're more of a shiverer, we recommend koshibo fabric. Finally, for more temperate locations, caviary usually comes out on top. Once again, it's only when you go for a test run that you'll know exactly what you prefer.

A variety of cuts

To finalize your choice, one question remains to be settled: the cut that will amaze you. Even if the basis remains the same in terms of modesty, the difference lies in the sleeves and fullness. With the Saudi jilbab, for example, you can choose a cut that's as elegant as it is wide. You can also choose a narrower cut, especially for prayer. As for sleeves: butterfly or tight, the choice is yours. All that's left is to think about what to wear underneath before finalizing which women it's for.

What do I wear under my Jilbab?

Well, the answer is simple! Wearwhatever you like under your legal garment. Taking into account, of course, the situation in front of whom you'll be revealing yourself. Let's remind ourselves. The uncovered parts allowed between women are precise. They are limited to the parts concerned by minor purification. In other words, small ablutions. In a family context, we advise you to keep to these same criteria in order to instill, from an early age, the right values of education. Finally, in a marital context, the choice is yours! Whatever pleases you... and your husband, of course.

Who is it for?

The jilbab is available in a range of cuts for all Muslim women who want to cover themselves up as completely as possible. You'll find just as much modesty with the Abaya and khimar combination. This winning combo is also one of our favorites. You'll find just as much choice in our boutique for this alternative. The pleasure of varying styles is yours. In any case, the jilbab, abaya and khimar exist for every woman in the community. And ultimately, for all believers seeking great modesty, in response to what Our Lord asks of us.
