Islam now has over two billion followers worldwide. This is due to the determination of iconic Muslim figures who dedicated their lives to devotion to Allah, but also to spreading Islam. Among them is Said ibn Zayd, radiallahu anhu, a companion of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Said ibn Zayd: origins and youth

As for his father, Zayd Ibn Amr Ibn Nufayl, he was not involved in idol worship. A staunch defender of monotheism, he turned away from the pagan practices of the Arabs of the time. As a result, he managed to preserve ancient religious traditions, which he also took care to pass on to his children.
During his lifetime, Said Ibn Zayd married Fatima bint Al-Khattab, sister of 'Umar Al Farouq, who later became caliph and commander of the believers. Their children were Assim, Abdullah and Ubaida. He was one of the first to convert to Islam , following the call of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).
Like many sahabas, he contributed to the spread of Islam. In particular, he used his power of influence, due to his membership of the Quraysh, which gave him a high social rank, to persuade people to join the religion to which the Prophet Muhammad called.

His story, and that of all the Companions, is a source of inspiration for believers. Allah made this generation the one that would support and accompany the best of men. They contributed to theexpansion of Islam both during the life of Allah's messenger and after his death.
